The summer is here! It gets hotter and the crops are growing quickly. We, here at ICM, like to continue to gather together with students who remain throughout the summer. As a matter of fact, we went to dinner with several students last week. It was cool! We went to a Japanese restaurant where we had to take our shoes off just to enter the table area where we would sit and eat. Then after we were done, we went back to our house to "hang out" together and watch a movie. It was very relaxing!
If you are hanging out this summer, please let us know! We will have some more events (ones that we have made as a "tradition"). In July we will have two events that we have done now for 3 years. On July 4th, the American Independence Day, we will have a cook-out at a historical house and then go watch some fireworks. Then later in July, we will take students to the Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair. It is a cultural event with animals, food, and carnival rides. Its fun!
I hope y'all are able to rest and relax as much as possible during your summer break! I know some have started their summer courses, but still try to rest too.
As the Director of ICM, my desire is to connect with the international students at Purdue University along with connecting them with American friends. This blog is some personal thoughts and stories from our experiences.
