As this ministry continues and concludes it's first full semester, I am becoming more aware of the opportunities and needs of our international student friends! Just know I am working hard to reach and help in every way possible. There are common needs of students and then unique ones after they arrive and get established. Meetings are taking place between international students and myself, American students and myself, as well as meetings with the ISS office.
Opportunities are coming to a close for the semester for a lot of students because they are returning home or going off to other places during the summer, but we will work to offer different opportunities to gather together. Keep checking the website for details.
I consider myself to be very blessed to serve the Lord and the international students here at Purdue, full-time. I enjoy meeting new friends from all over the world! I During our time at the Creation Museum, we were able to have 4 new students join us, from 3 different countries. It is so awesome to see these students making new friends through different events and gatherings.
I would encourage you to make a new friend today OR strive to be a better friend today to someone you already know. God did not make us to be solitary individuals. We need relationships!
Working on final preparations for our first trip as a group to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY. We have 8 students signed up to go! We are so excited and honored that they would join us! We are also thankful that a local church has allowed us to use their van in order to be able to ride together.
Hopefully, this will be the first of many trips to come in the future. We only hope that it will grow over the years to come!
I am thrilled to see what is about to happen here at Purdue! We are planning new opportunities for international students to connect with local Americans. We have new opportunities for international students to come and practice their English along with making new American friends. Also, we have Bible studies that are ready to go for those interested!
My desire this semester is to make some new friends in order to encourage them and be encouraged as well!
We had a great Thanksgiving with the Becks along with several international undergrad students! We had students from China and Malaysia. It was a wonderful time of food and fellowship along with being able to go outside and throw the football around. My favorite moment was being able to teach Ming and "Bob" how to throw the football! The smiles on their faces were priceless!
I'm looking forward to when we can have a Thanksgiving lunch at our new place next year (Lord willing!)!
As a family, we painted my office today! I looks great! Now, we will work on getting the furniture this coming week. We hope to have everything completed this week as we get prepared to hopefully move into a home very soon. We'll post some pictures of the office once we get it completed.
I am so excited to see this ministry begin! We have met our first Chinese student. We look forward to meeting a lot more here on Purdue's campus! Our hope is to reach as many as possible in order to share the love of Jesus Christ with them. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome, but
We are continuing to prepare ourselves to get to Purdue as soon as possible! We pray that the time will come sooner than later. We are still trying to sell our house. Once it is sold, we can relocate. We are so excited to get there and get underway.
